Just Visiting  Q & A

Where should I park?

We try to hold several parking spaces available for first time guests, right in front of the Church on South Chester Avenue.  There are also handicap spaces right in front of the building.  Other than that the easiest access is to park in Pearsey’s parking lot, the lot just south of the church.  Don’t worry.  The church actually owns the lot.  No one will tow it away and a security guard keeps an eye on your vehicle during church.  There is a parking map on the DIRECTIONS page of our web site

What time does service start?
Sunday mornings at 10:00 am, but you can come early, doors oprn at 8:00 am

Can I bring my kids?
Of course! We have well-trained children’s church Teachers and nursery attendants who have passed all the necessary background requirements. You can also keep them with you in the Worship Celebration.

What are the services like?

We usually start with worship music. We include the children and encourage them to play along on rhythm instruments we provide for them. This is usually followed by announcements, and the children go to age appropriate classes in the south wing of the facility.  This is usually followed by more worship, or a personal story of faith, After this our Pastor will begin his sermon in which questions and interaction is acceptable and welcomed.

How does the music sound?

We have a great electronic keyboard, drums, two or three guitars/bass and several singers.  Most of our music is contemporary Christian music.  We try to stretch ourselves into Country and Western, blue grass, even some jazz, classical and salsa sounds are anticipated in the future.  We do hymns occasionally,  sometimes we do hymns straight, but sometimes we like to give them a twist of our own style. We have recently gotten a whole new sound system, and it has improved our worship tremendously, come check it out!

What should I wear?
Most of us wear casual clothes. We seldom if ever see ties worn.  We like people to dress modestly, but in what ever makes you comfortable.  So, come as you are!

Will I be pressured to give in the offering?
We do not take an offering and you will not be asked to give an offering to an offering plate.  We have a box in the lobby for the convenience of our members to give their offerings to God and the church.  We are pleased that you would privilege us by just being here.  You are our guest, not a customer or a prospect.

Will I be singled out as a visitor?
You will be greeted by people at the door and by others in the church. You will not be singled out or pointed out. If anything makes you uncomfortable, please let us know. We want to make this a safe place for you to explore God, Jesus, the Bible and Christianity without undue pressure or manipulation. we are a church that embraces others with open arms. fellowship is important.

In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we’re talking about is Christ’s body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body.
