MATURING BY BECOMING INFANTS
So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk,
that by it you may grow up into salvation—
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
1 Peter 2:1-3 (ESV)
As we mature, we begin to value some things less and other things more. As children we seek pleasure, fun, comfort and excitement and we shun work and responsibility. As children we are committed to serving ourselves. But as we mature, we miraculously find ourselves laying aside some things we “loved” and we pick up responsibilities and find joy and fulfilment in serving the Lord instead of serving ourselves.
As you are maturing, what are some of the things that you are beginning to put away and what things are you picking up?
Write your thoughts or a prayer.
Please pray that our church family would crave and long for spiritual food more and more and put away the empty things of the world and selfishness.
Please pray for the outreach event.
Write down one thing for which you are grateful.
